The Hougham Park section is also open to this competition and you will be able to register on the beach with any weigh masters posted on the beach.

If you don’t already have a ticket, you can buy one from the weigh master and collect your weigh card from them.

The gates at Sunday's will only open from 0600, and fishing will commence from 0630. Lines up will be at 1500 sharp and weigh in will be at 1600 sharp; no late weigh cards will be accepted. The weigh in will be held at the ramp where the boats are launched near the N2 bridge. Sliding will also be allowed, but remember that sharks are only a small portion of the species towards prize money.

 

 

The weather conditions leading up to Saturday look very promising, I think some good fish are going to come out.

Tickets are available from Commercial Marine, Alcocks fishing tackle and Stefs Fishing tackle in Newton Park and Hook Line and Sinker tackle shop Newton park Tonys tackle Newton Park. Tickets may be purchased online and can be collected on the morning at registration. Ticket requests to be sent to rasspl@yahoo.com.

Registration will take place from 5am on Saturday the morning of the 4th September at the parking lot inside the Sunday camp site just before you go onto the beach. Fishing will start from 6:30 till 2:30 and all weigh cards must reach the weigh master by 4:00.

There will be braais available for those wanting to braai there will be a brandy, whiskey and beer bar will be available. Prize giving will commence as soon as the points are calculated.

Knock out competitions, sealed weight prizes power competitions heaviest fish on dropshot heaviest fish on rapala heaviest fish on spoon heaviest bag for the day most bonus points for the day overall heaviest fish for the day and many more prizes


Categories will include ladies teams, junior under 16 teams, junior under 18 teams, senior's teams and masters teams over 50.  A competition where the top twenty four anglers from each Franchise will qualify to fish for a million rand in prizes at the end or the year.

 

The top 24 Anglers scoring the most bonus points will be chosen purely on points scored during one anglin year.  No selectors no trials just purely on results

  • Anglers don't need to fish for a club to be allowed to fish
  • Anglers don't need to commit fish in all the competitions held throughout the year
  • Anglers don't have to be affiliated to a province.
  • Anglers don't have to fish for only sharks to score maximum points
  • Official weigh masters will record measurement to avoid any cheating
  • Anglers may enter into other franchises super league competitions and fish a super league every week end around the country if you choose to do so
  • Each fully paid RASSPL member will receive a membership card that will qualify you for discounts at tackle dealers and shops arount the country as well as on any RASSPL branded products.
